AECOM's Burnaby, British Columbia Structural Group is expanding and is actively seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer for immediate employment to work in the Transportation Department. Work will primarily consist of bridge and transportation infrastructure design projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Prepare design calculations and perform calculation check for bridges and other transportation related structures, e.g. culverts, retaining walls, etc.
Work with CAD designers and other team members to develop design drawings
Prepare construction specifications
Prepare quantity and construction cost estimates
Review shop drawings and other submittals
Conduct field review / inspection during construction
Provide inputs and assistance with proposals
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
5+ years of structural design (bridges & transportation infrastructures) experience
P.Eng. with APEGBC or ability to obtain within 6 months
An understanding of Business Development and proposals
Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
Experience with BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructures and/or local municipalities in the Greater Vancouver Area
Experience with CHBDC-CSA-S6
Experience with MMCD
Knowledgeable about Revit
Field experience in construction review and inspection
