Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Electrical Engineer for immediate employment for the Boston, MA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Electrical engineering from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy

  • Coordinating with multiple disciplines and acting as lead electrical engineer and to ensure that projects are delivered within budget and on schedule

  • Review and approve shop drawings and attend client meetings during the construction administration phase

  • Assist in proposal preparation in conjunction with the senior leadership of the office

  • Writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings

  • Works cooperatively with the Managing Principal or MEP Practice Leader in evaluating staffing needs

  • Works cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve company's mission

  • Ensures discipline plans that are created meet overall project team requirements for project scope and schedule

  • Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical and fire alarm disciplines

  • Ensures conformance with standards, established design practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 5+ years of consulting engineering experience

  • Healthcare, higher education and research labs projects design experience

  • Relevant experience in electrical and fire alarm design and the preparation of construction documents (including specifications)

  • Registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts or ability to obtain by reciprocity

  • Competent in all conventional aspects of electrical and fire alarm engineering and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard electrical engineering techniques, procedures and criteria

  • Knowledge of and experience with high performance and sustainable building practices

  • Demonstrates creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • AutoCAD

Preferred Qualifications

  • Revit experience

  • LEED accredited
