Job Summary

AECOM currently has an opportunity for an Experienced Bridge Engineer to join the growing team of professionals in our Transportation Bridge Group in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will contribute primarily in bridge design projects. This position is an opportunity to work within a well-established and very successful group that offers a diverse range of projects, technical challenges and career development opportunities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conceptual, preliminary and detailed final design of new bridges

  • Assessment and rehabilitation design of existing bridges

  • Load rating of existing bridges

  • Project engineering and project management

  • Proficient in the use of computer software for the analysis and design of complex bridges and other structures

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight project schedules

  • Preparation of technical specifications, technical reports, design calculations, and provisions of construction phase services

  • As a team-player, you are professional in dealing with colleagues of all levels and disciplines

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in bridge design, rehabilitation, and/or inspection

  • Project experience with MassDOT and/or other State DOT's

  • Experience using AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and industry design software

  • Well versed in modern structural, analytical and design software packages

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE or eligible to acquire a PE

  • Masters Degree
