About the Business Line
We deliver creative solutions for building projects for industry, government, commercial and leisure sectors. Our building engineering specialists have expertise in structural and building services engineering, fire engineering, acoustics, facades and seismic design. We embed sustainability principles in every design.
The selected candidate will join the Resilience and Climate Change Adaptation Group, part of AECOM Bogota’s B+P business line. The primary emphasis of the group is to promote socioeconomic and environmental sustainability in urban design, city planning, and policy projects. This is accomplished through employing rigorous economic and strategic planning techniques and developing innovative analytical approaches to providing solutions for delivering sustainability in varied domestic and international contexts.

This position will focus on climate adaptation and resilience planning projects for foundations, multilateral funding agencies and for local government and other public agencies. Assignments could also include disaster recovery planning focused on long-term community resilience, and pre-disaster mitigation planning.
Qualified candidates will have excellent analytical and writing skills with education and/or professional background in sustainability, climate change adaptation, climate action planning and/or natural resource planning. Experience in water management, urban and real estate economics, urban planning, or policy modeling/design are a plus. The candidate must have a demonstrated expertise in sustainability, with a particular emphasis on climate change.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Climate Vulnerability and Risk Assessments for regional authorities, municipalities, transportation agencies, utilities
Resiliency Strategies and Plans for cities (for example, for the 100 Resilient Cities Program)
Climate adaptation strategies for municipalities, transportation agencies, utilities
Climate Action Plans for cities of a range of sizes
Cost-benefit analysis for climate adaptation and mitigation plans
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g., Climate Change, Disasters, City and Regional Planning, Environmental Policy)
5+ years of experience
Knowledge of Climate Change, Resilience, Risk Management, Public Policies Analysis, Urban Management
Research & Writing Skills, Community Engagement, Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Master’s degree in relevant field
Experience in various countries, especially in Latin America and the Caribbean
Fluency in Portuguese
Graphic Design skills
