AECOM is seeking a Senior Highway Project Manager to work out of our Bismarck, ND office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design of complex highway projects including establishing highway design criteria; horizontal and vertical geometric design; roadway modeling; typical sections and cross sections; traffic/accident analyses; coordination of drainage and bridge reports; preparation of public meeting exhibits and projects reports. Additional responsibilities include identification, pre-positioning, winning and performing of work in North Dakota in support of the Highway and Bridge design & construction engineering practices in our Transportation business lines; as well as leading AECOM’s local highway design team on preliminary and final design projects and pursuits; staff utilization, and interacting with other disciplines, clients, and AECOM offices.
Specific design and construction engineering work would include:
Intersection and Interchange Improvement Plans
Interstate Reconstruction Plans
Rural Roadway Improvement Plans
Maintenance of Traffic Plans
Drainage and Erosion Control Plans
Responsible for following NDDOT and local standards and performing engineering calculations or supervising others in that role.
Collaborating and/or coordinating design teams consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and technicians
Coordination with clients, stakeholders and funding agencies
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
8+ years experience in highway design
North Dakota PE license or the ability to obtain within 6 months
Good written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Computer Aided Design software including Micro Station with Geopak and AutoCAD Civil 3D
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
Occasional travel for up to a week may be necessary with this position
Valid driver's license required
North Dakota PE license or the ability to obtain by reciprocity
Prior NDDOT preliminary engineering experience
Prior NDDOT construction engineering experience
Proficiency in Microstation and Geopak
