AECOM is seeking an ES&H Specialist I for immediate employment at our client facility in Billings, MT.
Provides technical assistance to office and field operations to ensure compliance with applicable international, Federal, State, and/or Company environmental, safety, and health regulations.
Conducts compliance evaluations of equipment, structures, and work in progress to ensure that regulatory environmental, safety and health standards of the Company and all applicable codes are followed.
Recommends facilities and technological specifications to carry out programs that fulfill the organization's overall objectives.
Prepares and reviews technical reports, correspondence and procedures manuals.
Establishes and maintains licenses and permits as required.
Meets applicable regulatory codes and standards where required.
May function as a generalist responsible for multiple ES&H facets on a small project or as a specialist on larger projects.
ES&H Specialists are expected to pursue and/or complete ES&H related professional certifications including, but not limited to the Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH), Certified Health Physicist (CHP), Certified Ergonomic Associate (CEA), and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certifications. Initial certifications are individual development technical achievements and can be accomplished by receiving the Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) and/or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST).
Under direct supervision, performs basic and routine duties in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with the ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.
Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and health programs, systems and procedures.
Assists in monitoring hazards and diseases that could be present in the work area. Works with others to investigate accidents, injuries and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace.
Participates in recommending improvement in processes, design, procedures and equipment to minimize hazards.
Participates in employee training, emergency preparedness and assures the quality of programs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Health or Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and skills.
- This is an entry-level position-no experience required
Experience working in the onshore Oil & Gas Midstream or Downstream industry
Previous experience working in areas with sub-zero temperatures
