AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Plumber.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Repair, replace, install, adjust, and maintain plumbing systems

  • Install and repair pipes and fixtures and open clogged drains

  • Layout, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems, plumbing fixtures, hot water, domestic water, sanitary drains and sewer lines – on basis of knowledge of system operating and study of building plans or working drawings

  • Install vents and traps in the plumbing system, in accordance with required codes

  • Utilize appropriate plumbing and shop tools

  • Work from preventive maintenance schedules

  • Assist outside contractors, as required, with knowledge of facilities, operations, and utilities

  • Cut openings in floors and walls to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings

  • Cut and thread pipe using a threading machine

  • Bend pipe by hand or with a pipe bending machine

  • Join piping by means of threaded, caulked, wiped, soldered, brazed, fused or cemented joints

  • Knowledge, experience and ability to use tools, equipment, and machinery related to the plumbing trade

  • Use hand tools to secure pipe to structure with clamps, brackets and hangers

  • Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes

  • Perform other job related work as assigned

  • Check systems for leaks by proper means of testing

  • Direct other repair personnel, as assigned

  • Perform other job related duties as assigned

  • Observe all safety, practices, directives, and use proper PPE as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Top Secret SCI Clearance with a willingness to be submitted for higher level government clearances to include a government polygraph

  • High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required

  • Journeyman plumbing license

  • Four years experience in the plumbing trade required

  • Must obtain within one year and maintain back flow prevention testing and maintenance certification

  • Have a thorough working knowledge of plumbing codes and practices

  • Have a thorough knowledge of rest room plumbing systems; toilet valves; and sanitary sewer, storm sewer, domestic water, steam, and condensate systems

  • Must be able to physically lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to climb, crawl, bend, and/or sit in cramped or uncomfortable places and positions

  • Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions

  • A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays as required

  • Must have valid Driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master plumber license

  • Ability to write correspondence

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
