AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Part Time First Operator / Facilities Engineer. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance during his/her watch of all equipment in his/her plant. Operates and maintains one or more systems which provide the facility with such services as heat, air-conditioning (cool, humidify, dehumidify, filter, and circulate air), refrigeration, steam or high temperature water or electricity. Duties involve: observing and interpreting readings on gauges, meters and charts which register various aspects of the system’s operation, adjusting controls to insure safe and efficient operation of the system and to meet demands for the service provided; recording in logs various aspects of the system’s operation; keeping the engines, machinery and equipment of the system in good working order. May direct and coordinate activities of other workers (not stationary engineers) in performing tasks directly related to operating and maintaining the system or systems.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Top Secret SCI Clearance with a willingness to be submitted for higher level government clearances to include a government polygraph.

  • Must have a First Class Engineer's License, 3rd class DC or comparable

  • High school, technical school, or trade school graduate or equivalent apprenticeship.

  • Class 111 Boiler Fireman license or First Grade Stationary Engineer’s license

  • Three years’ experience in central plant operations

  • Be capable, as required, to stand watches for any person under their supervision, and to work with the tools of the operating engineer’s trade.

  • Personnel Supervised: Second Operator, Apprentice Engineer (where directed by Watch Engineer)

  • Basic knowledge of blueprints

  • Thorough knowledge of piping systems

  • Experience and ability to operate chiller systems

  • A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary including days, evenings, and nights as well as overtime, weekends and holidays as required.
