AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Lead HVAC Mechanic. As a working lead, this individual is responsible to immediate supervisor for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment in this specialty qualification and for emergency notification of proper supervisory personnel as needed. Responsible for the scheduling and daily production of work assigned to the employees. Installs, services and repairs environment-control systems utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Top Secret SCI Clearance with a willingness to be submitted for higher level government clearances to include a government polygraph.

  • HS, technical school, or trade school graduate or equivalent apprenticeship

  • Qualification as an HVAC Mechanic, Grade 1

  • Eight year experience in the HVAC trades, to include two years or more supervisory experience

  • Must be thoroughly familiar with HVAC maintenance of equipment

  • CFC refrigerant handling license

  • Thorough knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, steam and condensate systems

  • A record of safe operations and working knowledge of safety standards for mechanical systems

  • Personnel supervised: M/M HVAC, M/M General, M/M electrical, M/M Helper, or repair personnel

  • A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, nights, weekends and holidays as required

  • Must be able to read blueprints and perform material take offs from prints

  • Must possess Leadership skills

  • Must possess the skills and attitudes to effectively communicate with the customer and subordinates
