Job Summary

We are looking to recruit a Transport Planning and modelling Consultant to our Transport Planning Business in the Global Delivery Center based in Bangalore office. Our Transport Planning and modelling workload is expanding to meet the demands of our wide portfolio of clients, worldwide. The ideal candidate will come from an analytical background, such as mathematics, economics, geography, or engineering and will have experience in transport planning and possess key responsibilities listed in this recruitment notice. We are seeking an individual with an in-depth appreciation of their chosen area with good knowledge of wider transport planning and modelling issues. Our Transport Planners and modelers plan and evaluate future transport schemes, forecast demand and revenue, develop business cases, undertake economic appraisal, as well as look at the relationships between spatial planning and transport. We undertake transport modelling at a national and regional level right down to detailed micro-simulation where individual roads, pedestrian and public transport systems are analysed.

Job Responsibilities

  • The appropriate level of technical expertise is required in order that the Job / Project Accountabilities listed below can be carried out to the necessary standard:

  • Delivering high-quality technical tasks independently and under supervision from more senior staff.

  • Interacting and coordinating with other teams on various multi-disciplinary projects contributing to technical client reports and presentations.

  • Responding to client queries resulting from client reports

  • Receiving project briefs from a Senior Manager

  • Understanding and implement Quality Assurance procedures

  • Attending and contributing to client progress meetings and debriefs

  • Working within financial and programme constraints

  • Preparing client presentations and supporting documentation with a Senior Manager, and attend as necessary

Minimum Requirements

  • A graduate with a BSc/MSc/PhD in an analytical subject (e.g. geography, mathematics, economics, engineering).

  • Self-motivation and capability to undertake specific tasks with minimum supervision

  • Experience in using one or more relevant transport planning and simulation software packages e.g. SATURN, CUBE, EMME, VISSIM, PARAMICS, TUBA, LEGION, VISWALK, and spreadsheet modelling techniques etc.

  • Experience in transport modelling and forecasting of highway and public transport demand and supply and/or pedestrian modelling and planning.

  • Ability to manage own time to meet project deadlines

  • Excellent spreadsheet skills

  • Presentation and meeting skills

  • Excellent technical writing capability

  • The ability to communicate technical concepts and provide a level of supervision to more junior staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Membership or working towards membership of a chartered professional institution.

  • BSc, MSc orPhD in Transport Planning or related subject such as mathematics, Engineering, geography, Economics etc.
