AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Vehicle Engineer for employment in the Baltimore, MD office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide staff augmentation to key client, Maryland Transit Administration
Provide support to MARC in various assignments such as operations, maintenance and procurement of passenger railcars
Coordination with various MTA personnel as well as staff from other consulting firms and contractors to the MTA
Supporting new procurement of locomotives and the overhaul of several classes of passenger rolling stock
Providing oversight on the progress of overhauls and support their acceptance and recommissioning into the MARC rolling stock fleet
Follow on activities will include support of the warranty administration for the new locomotives and overhauled passenger rolling stock
13+ years minimum experience.
Experienced in coordinating and managing rolling stock maintenance and subcontractors
Familiar with current FRA and FTA regulations
Familiar with coordinating with Class 1 railroads and use of their right of way
Experienced in the procurement of passenger rail cars and locomotives. This includes:
Project management and oversight
Acceptance testing and commissioning
25+ years of experience
Previous management experience with a transit agency
Project Life Cycle Management
Project Budgeting/Financial Management
Developing Estimates for Time/Cost
Establish guidelines for evaluating vendor bids/proposals
