Position Title Site Manager (OCONUS - Afghanistan)

AECOM is currently supporting the US Government with Environmental Response Teams in Afghanistan. This is a United States Corps of Engineers (USACE) Task Order with personnel deployed at Bagram, Kandahar, and other U.S. military installations. Services provided under this Task Order include response to environmental issues facing the U.S. military, including solid waste recycling, responding to fuel spills, and providing Subject Matter Expertise and other specialized support for various Environmental Corrective Actions in theatre.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed.
Serving as AECOM representative to client on-site
Managing subcontractors and overseeing day-to-day operations and logistics;
Creating work plans and scopes of work;
Overseeing safety of operations;
Performing quality control operations and inspections;
Assisting with soil sampling and laboratory result evaluations
This is a deployed assignment in Afghanistan. Austere living conditions and travel from primary base of operations to Forward Operating Locations is required. Must be physically and mentally fit for duty in Afghanistan.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Emergency Management, Earth Science, Public Health or related field
8+ years of experience in hazardous materials management, response to hazardous materials incidents, and corrective actions
Experience in management and supervision of managing technical personnel
Must be able to live and work in austere environments under harsh working conditions
Must be fluent in English and have strong verbal and writing skills
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required
Must hold an active Secret level security clearance
OSHA 8-Hour On-Scene Incident Command Certification
40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER)
Relevant Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) certifications, including Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Registered Environmental Manager (REM), and/or Safety Trained Supervisor (STS)
Previous overseas assignments
Asbestos and Lead-Based Paint (LBP) certifications
