AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the Afghanistan-Eagle contract for an Crane Operator . Directs and leads crane and MHE operators as well as designated personnel performing rigging operations on day to day crane tasks to ensure they are carried out in a timely manner. Assists in developing and implementing work instructions and training for crane and MHE operators and those performing rigging operations. Evaluates crane and MHE operators to ensure they operate the equipment properly and safely. Operates cranes or MHE to move, position and lift or place machinery, equipment or other large objects at various sites. Loads or repositions heavy equipment such as cranes, tankers, and large industrial tractors and attachments as mission dictates. Conduct PMCS and operator vehicle and equipment checks using the appropriate forms (DA Form 461-5 and DA Form 2404). Operates heavy equipment such as forklifts, wheel tractors, off-highway trucks, and RTCH. Performs generalized maintenance and safety checks on equipment and minor repairs. Conducts inventory of all classes of supply and prepares cargo for movement and block and brace to secure loads. Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures. Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality Management System. Performs other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Crane NCCCO certification (US) or country of origin equivalent, is required.
4-5 years crane operating experience required.
3-4 years experience and or training on RTCH and forklifts required.
10 K (or above) MHE experience required.
Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience.
Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa.
Must be able to carry out the safe rigging of equipment, tubular and materials; operate equipment safely; and perform minor repairs.
Must be able to help set up the crane, which requires agility and the physical strength to lift heavy parts.
Determines safe lifting capacities of the crane and operates cranes with related attachments.
Must have knowledge and experience of automated supply systems, equipment operations and regulations, MHE policies and related Technical Manual procedures.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to obtain a 5984-E Army standard license.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
