Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the Afghanistan - EAGLE contract for a Electrician. Installs, tests, and maintenance of electrical /electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and associated fixtures. Utilizes the appropriate hand/power tools and testing equipment. Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, equipment, fixtures and associated components utilizing the appropriate test equipment to locate and correct the cause of the malfunction. Installation and termination of all necessary wiring systems and associated component panel boards, circuit breakers, fuses, bonding and grounding systems, all IAW relevant National Electric Code (NEC) requirements. Assists in the compilation of all required data and relevant documentation resulting from inspections of electrical systems and their component parts to identify hazards and defects. Determines the appropriate course of action to facilitate necessary repair, all IAW relevant National Electric Code (NEC) requirements. Ground tests electrical systems using testing devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of all electrical systems IAW relevant National Electric Code (NEC) requirements. Prepares, and fully understands, sketches, plans and associated wiring diagrams to facilitate the required facility wiring installation and associated equipment. Ensures all work adheres to, and is in compliance with, the National Electric Code (NEC) and required building and Safety Codes. Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality Management System. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • 3 years’ experience as an electrician required.

  • Electrician licenses from country of origin, United States National Electrician Code (NEC) required.

  • Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa.

  • NACI / Tier 1 for US Citizens and PCC for Non US Citizens.

  • Must have comprehensive knowledge and work experience with all aspects of the National Electric Code (NEC) and associated related documentation.

  • Must have knowledge of machine and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

  • Must have knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads. Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.

  • Determining causes of operating errors and determining appropriate corrective actions.

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks at any given time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
