AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting new opportunity in Afghanistan on the MOSC-A contract for an Administrative Assis t ant III. Coordinates and assists management in office services, such as personnel, basic book-keeping work, and budget preparation. Interprets and reviews both operating practices and procedures and administrative policies to make recommendations to areas such as workflow, reporting procedures, or expenditures. Assist with policy development for office. Prepares reports, memos, letters, financial data and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and/or presentation software. Handles incoming memos, submissions, and reports in order to determine their significance and plan their distribution and prepares correspondence to routine inquiries. Conducts research, compiles data, and prepares papers for consideration and presentation by directors or managers. Performs general office duties such as ordering supplies, maintaining records management systems, and performing basic bookkeeping work. Attends unclassified meetings in order to record minutes. Compiles, transcribes, and distributes minutes of meetings. Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures. Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality Management System. Duties may vary dependent on department/directorate. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience.

  • Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa.

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience providing administrative/clerical support required.

  • Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience.

  • Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa.

  • Must have knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

  • Must have a high level of understanding of office procedures.

  • Must have a general understanding of military and government contracting terminology.

  • Must have a general understanding of basic business practices.

  • Must have the ability to understand basic bookkeeping.

  • Must have the ability to work effectively with employees and management of all levels [to include multinational staff, superiors, and military officers.

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.

  • Must have strong organizational and planning skills.

  • Must have advanced proficiency in MSWord, Excel, and Outlook applications.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to communicate in oral and written English with an advanced skill- level and including business writing.

  • Driver’s license may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree preferred.

  • US Army 42A or similar preferred.
