AECOM is actively seeking a Human Resources Generalist for the Mission Readiness business unit to provide HR solutions to operations managers, employees and HR business partners with a high level of operational excellence, collaboration, and customer focus. Work location is open based on the right candidate.
The position reports to a Human Resources Manager for Mission Readiness and will work with a team of Human Resources personnel in Mission Readiness and across the broader AECOM. This role interfaces regularly with the Centers of Expertise, Talent Management, Shared Services, Operations Management teams, and provides general HR field support for various OCONUS and international sites.
Essential responsibilities include:
Employee Relations – Have familiarity with policies and laws, answer employee HR-related questions, counsel site management teams on HR-related issues, review and participate in employee issue resolution, conduct fact finding investigations, develop written disciplinary communications as needed for documentation and resolution, and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, as applicable.
Site Transitions – Support onboarding and training requirements of Management Services site transitions. Conduct new employee orientations, training, I-9 verifications, and other requirements to support as needed.
Compensation/Benefits – Conduct open enrollment meetings, disseminate information as directed, and ensure SCA compliance as applicable.
Data Integrity of Employee Records – Submit, review, and/or approve required information for HR Management System entry as appropriate for new employee transactions, compensation actions and status changes in an accurate and timely manner.
Reporting – Provide statistical reporting and develop ad hoc reports as needed to monitor data integrity, progress on initiatives, etc.
Compliance – Maintain state, federal, and local posting requirements, compile data for audits, submit/coordinate worker’s compensation activities in a timely manner, comply with safety requirements, draft responses to EEO or other agency claims, represent the company’s interest to outside entities as directed, and promote actions for affirmative action plan compliance.
Onboarding – Review candidate background checks, drug screen results, and provide support to candidates as needed for online paperwork completion in Brass Ring recruiting system.
Other – Participate in company wide initiatives, conduct research, analyze data, and other support as needed. Attend weekly HR calls, participate in HR meetings.
Position may require travel.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must posses planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Procedure Compliance - Each employee must read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or demonstrated equivalent. Extensive experience in all areas of human resources with 7 years in human resources operations. Demonstrated experience supporting employees governed by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and/or union Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) highly preferred. Additional requirements include:

Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have a valid Driver's License.
Ability to obtain security clearance.
Must have the ability to travel.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check.
Must be able to speak, read and write English.
SHRM Certifications – SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP or those by HRCI: PHR, SPHR, GPHR
