About the Business Line
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level GIS Specialist for employment in the Austin ,TX office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and associated software to produce, display, and analyze geographic information
Develop and maintain databases, reports, and mapping
Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes
Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components
Will use concepts, practices and procedures to extract and provide GIS data to clients
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Bachelor’s degree in Geography or other related field required
Basic experience working with ArcGIS and other GIS databases
Familiarity with ESRI's software suite (10.X)
Data editing/manipulation skills within ArcMap
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced consulting environment and demonstrate organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Experience in AutoCAD would be desirable
Familiar with GIS production environments
Candidate should have knowledge of ESRI’s Software Suite (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, & ArcSDE) and be capable of applying those skills. The ideal candidate will have additional skills/expertise in database management (Microsoft Access or SQL Server) and CAD software. Additionally candidate must collect, analyze, and attribute data according to data specification standards and document issues or problems. Excellent written and oral communication will be needed to coordinate with technical and non-technical staff.
Experience in AutoCAD would be desirable
Experience with coastal mapping would be desirable
