About the Business Line

Water

We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

Our work covers input to a wide range of project types and will involve design and analysis, field investigations, reporting and project management. Right now we have a wide range of work shaping Auckland’s landscape including hallmark major projects and we are seeking Principal Geotechnical Engineers keen to get involved in these and more.

The AECOM Ground Engineering and Tunnelling team is dynamic and collaborative within New Zealand and across the world. There is plenty of scope to develop your career, gain exposure to global mega –projects through our global mobility opportunities as well as to work on the full range of projects in the North Island across the infrastructure sector.

The role will appeal to a specialist in design and analysis and will involve interpretation of site investigation data, site characterisation for civil infrastructure projects, ground liquefaction assessment, numerical modelling of shallow and deep underground excavation in soil and rock, slope, foundation and retaining wall design, soil and rock in situ and laboratory test data evaluation.

Minimum Requirements

We are interested to hear from Geotechnical Engineers with 12 or more years’ experience who have the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and able to demonstrate:

  • Strong design skills.

  • Site investigation experience.

  • Experience of finite element analysis using Plaxis or RocScience software and other Geotechnical software including WALLAP and SlopeW.

  • Good communication skills both oral and written.

  • Experience of report writing and contractual communication.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Desire to assist in mentoring of junior staff.

  • CPEng registration
