Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

The Role

Our Auckland team is seeking an experienced planner to deliver exceptional planning support to our public and private clients. You will play a lead role in growing our business by developing and enhancing client relationships and winning work.

Day to day responsibilities will include;

  • Analysis and review of relevant planning documents to scope planning requirements, develop planning methodologies and advise on key information to support required approvals

  • Prepare, manage and support applications requiring planning approval (i.e resource consents , plan change requests, notices of requirement, etc)

  • Represent clients and/or provide expert evidence at statutory hearings

  • Identify and develop new business development initiatives including engagement with external clients and prospective clients

  • Provide mentoring and career development for team members

Minimum Requirements

About You

We are seeking a self-motivated individual with a strong client focus who is able to demonstrate;

  • 15 years New Zealand planning experience, preferably in a consulting environment

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification

  • NZPI member

  • Statutory policy and landuse planning experience

  • Confident in preparing and presenting evidence at Council and/or Environment Court

  • Strong knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991, associated National Policy Statements and National Environmental Standards and any proposed and/or enacted amendments

  • Previous experience in providing support and mentorship to team members
