Job Summary

The Buildings + Places group of AECOM is actively seeking a Structural Facilities Engineer / BIM Specialist for immediate employment in Atlanta, GA.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Building Design, specific to commercial and institutional projects. The successful candidate will be heavily involved with BIM and the use of Revit to create production drawings. The candidate will also use 3D structural analysis software to produce design calculations and reports; work with CAD technicians in the production of construction documents and insure assignment meet building codes as well as client requirements. The candidate can look forward to projects that include a variety of building types including Office, Industrial, Commercial, Educational, and Healthcare. The AECOM Perimeter Office will be relocating to Midtown Atlanta in mid-December 2016.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural design

  • 2+ years of relevant structural engineering experience with engineering or A/E firms

  • EIT or ability to obtain PE in one to two years

  • BIM 3D Revit software proficiency required

  • Experience in developing and preparing design calculations and construction documents for commercial, institutional and/or federal projects

  • Experience coordinating work with Civil, Architectural, and MEP disciplines

  • Strong technical skills in structural design, detailing and analysis of steel and concrete structures

  • Strong writing, verbal and graphic communication skills

  • Familiarity with Building Codes (IBC, AISC, ACI AND ASCE 7)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Word and Excel,

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Above average proficiency using BIM 3D Revit software is highly desired

  • Experience with RAM Elements structural design software

  • Experience with construction administration services including shop drawing review and interaction with onsite contractors
