Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Transit Planner / Program Manager for immediate employment in the Atlanta, GA office. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and conducting business development activities, pursuing new projects, and serving as a senior project manager on Transit program project deliveries for a major public transportation agency. Proficiency will depend on strong communications skills, previous experience leading inter-disciplinary planning project teams and an interest in mentoring team members.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Client relationship development and management for transit planning projects

  • Project pursuit leadership and management

  • Visible external and internal leadership to support business development and project delivery needs

  • Building and developing teams to win and deliver

  • Financial management of projects and programs

  • Project delivery

  • Communicate and coordinate efforts and ideas with subordinates, peers and management team

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or in Transportation Planning

  • 10+ years of experience in planning and engineering consulting or engineering management companies with an emphasis on transit

  • Seller/doer with a diverse background and significant business development and client relationship experience

  • Previous and on-going successful client relationships with public transit clients

  • Comprehensive experience in the preparation, budgeting, negotiation, and administration of contracts with both public and private organizations

  • Proven track record of successful project management of multi-disciplinary projects with a focus on public transportation planning and design projects

  • Previous leadership/mentoring experience; desire to work in a team environment; strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer local candidate with strong ties to public transit agencies in the Georgia and Atlanta markets
