Job Summary

The Buildings and Places Business Lines of AECOM are actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior FAA Architect for immediate employment in the Atlanta, Georgia office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in electrical engineering systems, specific to facilities and infrastructure design. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the Architectural design of FAA Air Traffic Control Towers

  • Responsible for Architectural Quality Control reviews

  • Mentoring junior staff

  • Developing architectural details and standards

  • Receive minimal supervision on technical aspect of assignments

  • Work in a team based environment

  • Evaluating, selecting and applying standard architectural techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications

  • Planning and conducting work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria

  • Resolving issues or problems concerning conflicting design requirements, specifications and/or difficult coordination requirements

  • Conducting peer reviews and making technical presentations

  • Planning, scheduling, conducting or coordinating detailed phases of the architectural work as a part of a major project or small-moderate scope project

  • Reviewing, planning and, preparing technical specifications according to the contract documents

  • Coordinating and preparing deliverables for submittal to clients

  • Representing project(s) to other disciplines and AECOM management

  • Interacting regularly with clients to expand work assignments or market new work

  • Assisting with proposals and scopes of work to provide services or obtain funding for architectural projects or programs

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Architecture

  • 10+ years of experience, including experience on FAA Air traffic Control Towers

  • Licensed Architecture

  • Experience in preparing construction documents

  • Familiarity with building codes and experience in applying codes and obtaining plan approvals

  • Experience in leading A/E team on major proojects

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, REVIT and AutoCAD

  • Excellent client/customer service skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines and within budget/client requests

  • Project management experience including budget control and interdisciplinary coordination

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Limited travel as required to meet training and project requirements

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience, including experience on FAA Air traffic Control Towers

  • LEED Accreditation
