Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Project Controls Specialist to join our surface transportation/roadway group in the Atlanta Area office. This controls specialist will be responsible for monitoring and updating schedules on GDOT major and minor roadway and bridge projects across Georgia. Projects are delivered using procedures typical to Georgia Department of Transportation and local Georgia governments. This position requires a working knowledge in areas of program controls including project reporting, master scheduling, estimating, budgets, and electronic program management activities in support of projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure links between Master Program Schedule, Risk Management / Cash Flow tools, and PMIS system are maintained

  • Resolve high-level scheduling, construction cost, and project budget issues

  • Review Master Program Schedule

  • Interface with project management

  • Coordinate development of baseline project target schedules, fiscal year schedules, and project budgets

  • Prepare comparing measurements against project schedule, cost, and budget plans

  • Provide oversight of sufficient incorporation of contractor / consultant schedules into an integrated schedule

  • Provide support in reconciliation of impacts of proposed changes-of-scope, schedule, and cost

  • Prepare complex reports and project metrics

  • Implement and follow Quality Assurance Program procedures

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • 4+ years of experience managing or designing civil engineering projects

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GDOT projects

  • Understanding of scheduling and earned value principles

  • Experience with Oracle Business Intelligence Applications and SQL
