Position Title Bridge Engineer

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Bridge Engineer for immediate employment in the Atlanta, GA office.
AECOM’s Atlanta Bridge Group is responsible for a wide variety of bridge and transportation related structures’ including highway overpasses, pedestrian bridges, bridge inspection, bridge maintenance, bridge load tests and railroad public projects reviews.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Conceptual, preliminary and detailed final design of new bridges
Assessment and rehabilitation design of existing bridges
Load rating of existing bridges
Project engineering and project management
Preparation of technical specifications, technical reports, design calculations, and provisions of construction phase services
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering or related field
5+ years of experience, primarily in bridge design
Project experience with GDOT and/or other State DOT’s
A current P.E. license in GA and/or surrounding states
Well versed in modern structural, analytical and design software packages
Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
Candidate should be detail oriented and should have strong technical skills in structural analysis, steel and concrete design
Ability to work in a team environment.
Time management skills
Must posses a strong work ethic and a willing desire to learn
Willingness to travel (if and when required)
Proficient in the use of computer software for the analysis and design of complex bridges and other structures
Ability to work under pressure to meet tight project schedules
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Masters degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
Working familiarity with GDOT is preferred
