Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Project Manager for immediate employment in the Arlington, VA office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifies potential clients and business lines

  • Secures and manages clients and contracts

  • Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of projects

  • Regularly develops and evaluates project plans

  • Provides leadership, direction and technical guidance on civil design projects

  • Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluations when necessary data are insufficient

  • Responsible for ensuring proper quality control procedures are implemented on all projects

  • Conducts peer reviews and makes technical presentations

  • Mentors Junior Staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in the in the planning and design of municipal water and wastewater treatment and distribution/collection projects

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer

  • Prior experience as a Project Manager for water and wastewater design projects

  • Experience working with local, state and federal state permit agencies in the Northern Virginia/DC area

  • Strong written and oral communication, quantitative and interpersonal skills

  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor

  • Proactive on assignments and demonstrate initiative

  • Must work independently with minimal supervision, and complete multiple technical tasks under tight deadlines

  • The ability to work with other engineering disciplines at various locations, both internal and external to AECOM is a must

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in the in the planning and design of municipal water and wastewater treatment and distribution/collection projects

  • PMP preferred

  • Leadership experience in proposal preparation and business development is desirable
