Job Summary

The Design-Planning-Economics group of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Landscape Architect for our Arlington, VA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Work in collaboration with other designers on a wide array of projects ranging from urban streetscapes, civic plaza to large scale waterfront parks

  • Manage preparation of documents and graphics for all phases of landscape architectural design, inclusive of site analysis, master planning, schematic design, design development and construction documents

  • Follow clear CAD, Revit and QAQC standards

  • Manage large, complex public sector and private sector design projects

  • Assist in mentoring junior design staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture or related field

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

  • Licensed landscape architect (MD or VA licensure is preferred, ability to file for reciprocity)

  • 10+ years of experience in landscape architecture, including cultural landscapes, U.S. federal government civilian projects, and/or mixed-use development projects for private clients

  • 5 + years of relevant project management experience

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and SketchUp software required

  • Possess strong graphic skills to generate two dimensional and three dimensional design graphics

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Business development experience, including leading pursuits and positioning firms to compete successfully on tenders and design competitions

  • Have project management skills including project administration, scheduling and budget tracking

  • Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams

  • Experience in producing construction documents

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Rhino, Revit, ArcGIS, and other computer applications is highly desired

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Strong knowledge/interest in plant materials

  • Experience producing written technical specifications

  • Experience in construction administration

  • Security clearances for U.S. government projects
