Building Engineering

We deliver creative solutions for building projects for industry, government, commercial and leisure sectors. Our building engineering specialists have expertise in structural and building services engineering, fire engineering, acoustics, facades and seismic design. We embed sustainability principles in every design.

Job Summary

The Building + Places Division of AECOM is actively seeking a Scheduler for immediate employment for work in a federal agency’s office in Washington, DC. This position is responsible for activities related to scheduling all the elements of project cost, including labor, materials and permanent equipment, supplies, consumables and expenses, and construction equipment rental and operating costs, contingency, escalation and program risk, etc.


  • Provides the client with current schedules for the design process

  • Ability to integrate a master schedule with a multitude of projects

  • Works with Project Managers and other disciplines to evaluate appropriateness of project durations

  • Establishes and maintains a schedule database

  • Maintains consistent and period communications with other team members

  • Prepares and/or coordinates preparation of full project schedules

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’ degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction

  • 7+ years' experience

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

  • Secret Security clearance or higher is required (clearance must be final)

  • Thorough understanding and proficiency in Microsoft Project software

  • Must have an understanding of construction means, methods, and sequences

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, Requests-for Proposals and contracts

  • Ability to understand A/E design practices, sequencing, and schedules

  • Ability to generate project construction schedules is required

  • Ability to generate project design schedules is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of cost estimating a plus, but not required

  • Working knowledge of Oracle/Primavera P-6 is desirable
