Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Geologist for immediate employment. The successful candidate can be located remotely.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting our Conceptual Site Modelling practice in our Arlington, Virginia office

  • Assisting with field work (e.g., groundwater sampling); compiling and evaluating site-related geological, geophysical, hydrogeologic and environmental data; and preparing detailed geologic cross sections and reports

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Geology with an emphasis in Stratigraphy

  • 8+ years experience within the industry

  • Significant practical application in stratigraphy and stratigraphic data interpretation; an understanding and applied experience in sequence stratigraphy

  • Knowledge/experience in stratigraphic data interpretation

  • Ability to develop detailed geologic cross sections using sequence stratigraphic interpretations

  • Ability to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors

  • Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative

  • Field work and periodic travel required

  • Excellent skills in written and spoken communication, organization, time management, and an individual who thrives in a team-oriented environment

  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and preparing technical reports

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Oil and Gas Industry

  • Experience with specialized software (e.g., Rockworks, EVS, ModFlow, CADD, GIS) and building complex databases would be a plus
