Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Data Modeler to support our customer in the DC Metro area. This person will serve as the technical data architect for data-analysis projects and layer design and development. The position is required to solve business intelligence challenges that involving functions needed to analyze, design, recommend and code complex solutions, often using ETL tools, R, Oracle, and statistical modeling tool.

The responsibilities include but not limited to:

•Analyze business reports and analytical requirements

• Conduct interviews and brainstorming discussions with teammates

• Develop logical and physical dimensional data models

• Ensure data objects adhere to defined standards and best practices

• Statistical Data modeling, including reverse and forward engineering

• Programming in R (required), SAS (desired), SPSS

• Data collection, cleansing, analysis, inference

• Report writing

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field, or equivalent experience, and seven years minimum of related experience is required.

Ability to translate business and data requirements into logical and physical data models

• 3+ years of overall experience in data modeling

• Experience with data analysis, data profiling, and data mapping

• Experience maintaining and coordinating a data modeling effort in an Agile SDLC environment

• Experience with various data modeling tools

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Excellent analytical, data processing, customer service, and communication skills

Demonstrated knowledge of database systems and/ or data processing systems.

  • MUST have an ACTIVE SECRET security clearance and be confident no personal issues will prevent the government from issuing a work-site access badge. This includes successful completion of, work experience, education, credit/financial and criminal history records checks.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications Oracle DBMS experience, SQL and PL/SQL experience a plus.
