The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is seeking a technically talented Civil Engineer, interested in the public facing aspects of engineering work, to collaborate with our multi-disciplinary group of Civil/Transportation Engineering, Planning, and Architecture professionals in our Arlington office. We handle a large variety of projects; roadway, hydraulic and civil design projects ranging from mega design-builds to urban boutique projects and include transit-oriented ventures. This position is located in our Arlington, Virginia office, accessible by WMATA.
Our Arlington, Virginia Transportation group focuses on providing collaborative and holistic solutions to transportation and design challenges.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Prepare erosion and sediment control plans
Develop proposed grading plans
Design storm sewer and culverts
Prepare flood plain studies
Prepare SWPPPs and VPDES permits
Prepare SWM plans using Part IIB and Part IIC of the VSMP Regulations
Attend client meetings as required
Perform site inspections
Develop SOWs, schedules, budgets, fee estimates, marketing materials, presentations
Design roadway projects including collector and local roadways
Lead project tasks as required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college
5+ years of related experience
Demonstrated ability to communicate one-on-one and present technical information to stakeholders
Ability to lead project tasks and teams as needed
Ability to work with AutoCAD/Civil3D, Microstation, GeoPak Drainage, HY-8, Hydraflow Storm Sewers and Hydrographs, Flowmaster, Google Earth Pro, NRCS Web Soil Survey, Microsoft Office, Open Roads, SUDA (preferred), EnSoft Products
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
Virginia and/or DC Professional Engineering license
Certified Virginia DEQ SWM Combined Administrator (preferred)
Certified Virginia DEQ ESC Plan Reviewer (preferred)
Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC)
Familiarity with DC DOEE MEP process
HEC-RAS modeling experience
LEED Accredited Professional, BD&C (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to present and discuss technical content with clients, regulatory agency staff, and the public
Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail oriented work, and demonstrate effective time management skills
