Position Title Ordnance/RF Engineer

Perform a variety of electromagnetic environmental effects (E3) and hazards of electromagnetic radiation to ordnance (HERO) engineering functions to include review and analysis of technical ordnance/radar/communication data; update of ordnance databases; development and review of EMC technical documentation related to MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-461, MIL-HDBK-235, and MIL-HDBK-240; perform environmental and RADHAZ analyses of new and relocated transmitter and weapon systems with respect to ordnance maximum allowable environment (MAE); provide techniques of mitigation or develop emission control plans to eliminate or moderate conflicts. Perform RF measurements to include development of test plans, site coordination, testing, data analysis, and report generation. Knowledge of DoD Joint policies and procedures, and Services’ ordnance storage procedures, handling instructions, and safety regulations is highly desired. Develop and conduct E3 and HERO training using written, oral, and video media. Provide technical assistance to the acquisition community in assessing the adequacy of compliance to E3 and Spectrum Supportability requirements and provide support for the technical evaluation of new and modified systems to ensure compliance with current E3 and ordnance safety standards and practices.
BS in electrical engineering or related field with a minimum of 7 years of job-related experience. Prior work experience in DoD operations and/or Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) dependent weapon systems design/engineering/acquisition, E3, EMI, EMC. Exceptional written and oral communications skills.
Experience in Spectrum Certification/Supportability, DoD, government, and commercial EMS databases including Spectrum 21 (SXXI), Equipment Location-Certification Information Database (EL-CID), Spectrum Certification System (SCS), Host Nation Spectrum Worldwide Database Online (HNSWDO), and Stepstone. Familiarity with DoD Instructions 4650 and 3222. Database and SharePoint development skills a plus.
