About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.
AECOM is seeking an Alaska Federal Environmental Programs Manager - Senior Geologist, Scientist, Environmental Engineer with Project Manager/Department Manager experience in successfully managing and directing professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental remediation and/or compliance projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work is performed with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager
Oversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies
Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team
Acts as the technical expert supporting junior and mid-level staff through mentoring and career development
Supervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project work
Conducts reviews and provides staff feedback for continued staff improvement
Communications with clients will encompass both project and program level discussions, as well as business development/positioning
Willing to learn AECOM budget and accounting skills, as well as have a working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
15+ years of environmental experience with at least 5 of those years’ related to specific CERCLA, RCRA, DOD, and Alaska comparable environmental regulations/policies
Familiar with DOD QSM and UFPP QAPP
Must understand SI, RI/FS, RA, and PP and ROD process and deliverables
Technical expertise backed-up by staff and project management skills
Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery
Experience as a business developer
Experience leading a technical team, capable of using advanced, and/or proven scientific principles, theories, and practices
Extensive past experience developing technical solutions to complex problems
Experience interpreting data; conducting analyses, and comparing findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance. Applicant must have experience preparing federal proposals, cost estimates, and change orders or proposals
Experience leading teams of technical and field professionals
Experience preparing Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Risk Assessments, Treatment Studies, Proposed Plans, and Records of Decisions, in support of Federal environmental projects
Must have excellent written and verbal skills for concise communication externally with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, and others
U.S. Citizenship required
Valid Driver’s License
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Occasional travel required.
Direct remediation work experience in Alaska
Masters in geology, related scientific discipline, or environmental engineering
Professional license or affiliation. If an engineer, Alaska PE preferred
