Job Summary

AECOM has a nice opportunity for a Security Monitor supporting our program in Alice Springs, Australia. The selected candidate will provide support to project by supervising contractors and visitors without relevant security clearances and ensuring that all duties or tasks are performed within the areas designated for that particular activity and in accordance with site security and safety protocol. Specific duties include: maintaining control of un-cleared personnel/visitors to site that are assigned to them for responsibility; ensuring that un-cleared personnel or visitors that they are assigned responsibility for, do not have access to site sensitive material and do not access unauthorized areas; operate a hand-held radio system to communicate with key stakeholders in relation to un-cleared personnel/visitors; ensure that no electronic equipment is brought onto the facility without expressed permission of the Joint Security Staff; ensure that un-cleared personnel/visitor do not use electronic equipment on the facility without appropriate authorization from the Joint Security Staff; ensure that un-cleared personnel/visitor are aware of and follow relevant evacuation, lockdown and security procedures and processes; prevent the removal or theft of items belonging to the facility; perform duties in extreme conditions, weather, prolonged, standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs; and perform other duties as required by Security Operations Management. A Security Monitor may be requested to assist employees in one or all of the following areas where there is an operational need for additional support including cleaning, food Services, Trades Assistant/Serviceperson, administration and finance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TSPV) Department of Defence Security Clearance.

  • Understanding of the Security Regulations and Operating procedures.

  • Implement and follow the Facility Lockdown and evacuation procedures.

  • Ability to follow and comply with policy and procedures.

  • Demonstrated capacity to be flexible and adapt to changing circumstance.

  • Proved commitment to complete tasks and follow through.

  • Ability to work professionally and independently with minimal supervision.

  • Maintain the image of security and safety consciousness.

  • Current NT Driver’s Licence.

  • White Card.

  • Understanding and commitment to the principles of Security and Safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active, fully adjudicate Top Secret (TSPV) clearance is preferred.

  • Previous security experience preferred.
