About the Business Line
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.
The Design and Consulting Services Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Water Resources Engineer for immediate employment in the Albuquerque, NM office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate a career in design / engineering, specific to water, drainage and stormwater engineering projects. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to supporting AECOM’s water/wastewater business with a variety of clients including industrial, municipal and state agency clients throughout the Southwest Area – NM, AZ, and UT.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Performing and/or directing surface water modeling, mapping, and designing of stormwater and flood control structures
Performing and/or directing design of stormwater control facilities including: detention/retention ponds and open channels
Directing and reviewing documentation of calculations
Preparing engineering reports
Managing projects and tasks of varying complexity
Mentor junior staff
Plans and prepares, or reviews, technical specifications according to the contract documents
Bachelor's degree in related field
10+ years of experience including 3+ years of experience overseeing projects
Professional Engineer registration required
Exhibits in-depth knowledge of surface water modeling, planning and design projects and related technologies
Ability to communicate the technical aspects of projects to a wide audience
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as exceptional organizational skills
Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling Software (HEC-1, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS), AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microstation
Demonstrate the ability to work in local teams as well as the flexibility to work as part of inter-office groups
Must possess a valid driver's license
State of New Mexico Professional Engineer registration
Business development experience including client relations, proposal preparation, and professional leadership activities
Team leadership experience supervising engineers, CAD technicians, surveyors and field inspectors
