AECOM is hiring qualified Welder Combination Maint in support of USMC Depot Augmentation - Albany, GA.
This position qualifies for a one-time sign on bonus of $500 for qualified candidates selected for hire and a $250 referral bonus after they are hired and completed a minimum of 90 days on site.
Perform welding and welding fabrication that will require certification by the MC to the proper standard as warranted by types of metal and positions (Horizontal and/or Vertical). Gas Metal Arc Welding standard ER100S.035 dia wire with 95% argon 5% CO2 gas in the 2G (Horizontal Groove) position will be required. Aluminum armor plate (5086/5083) GMAW standard ER5356A will be utilized to certify .035 dia wire with 100% argon gas in the vertical position process.
GMAW standard ER308L will be used to certify using .030 dia wire with 90% helium, 7.5% argon and 2.5% CO2 gas in the downhill horizontal position. Testing will be graded by radiograph per MIL STD 2035. Employees should have a working knowing of weld techniques and be able to pass certification. If certification is not obtained by the employee, then the Company will determine course of continued employment.
Welders will be performing task such as welding of armor protective kits fabricated from armor steel and aluminum. Dependent on qualifications and experience welding operations will be performed on other ground combat equipment (both wheeled and tracked) at the Primary End Item (PEI) and component level undergoing maintenance at MCA. Must be able to read, interpret, and understand blue prints, engineering drawings, Statements of work, technical manuals, ISO work instructions, and other documentation to ensure proper procedures are adhered to.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Work is performed in a shop environment that is moderately lighted, heated and ventilated, is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruises from using tools in close placed and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts and sweepers in shop area. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. Frequently lifts items weighing 40-45 pounds and occasionally in excess of 50 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, or may include unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum three (3) years experience also required.
Thorough knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft maintenance is mandatory.
Must have knowledge of the scope and limitations of various categories of maintenance and their application to the contract unit. Must be able to operate ground support and auxiliary equipment.
Excellent attention to detail and communicative skills. May be required to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and hand trucks.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government Common Access Card (CAC) or Rapid Gate Pass.
Must be a US citizen.
Must be able to pass a respirator test.
Must be able to pass and obtain Government welding certification.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check.
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
