Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an I&C Maintenance Technician to be based at client locations near Akron, OH

Position Description or Typical Responsibilities for an I&C Maintenance Technician:

I&C Maintenance Technician performing a variety of instrumentation and control trade functions. These duties include corrective and preventive electrical maintenance on facility equipment such as motor control centers (I&C to 120vac, with 480vac max), VFDs, valve actuators, PLCs, and remotely controlled equipment. Tasks involve installation, wiring, network cabling, configuration programming and calibration of all types of instrumentation related to plant process control. Examples are flow and pressure transmitters, valve actuators, liquid samplers, process analyzers and complex control cabinet wiring. Responsible for detailed troubleshooting of plant control issues.

  • Works under direct supervision performing moderately complex technical work utilizing instructions, drawings, sketches and results from computer systems and schematics.

  • May be involved in training and supervising technical personnel.

  • May perform some data entry, utilizing CRT terminals and/or keypunch.

  • Works under general supervision performing advanced technical work utilizing a wide variety of resources, including computers.

  • May be responsible for all or part of a project.

  • May train and supervise work flow.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements for an I&C Maintenance Technician:


  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.


  • Minimum of 2+ years of direct work experience with maintenance of electronic instrumentation and controls

  • Computer proficient in MS Office.

  • Demonstrate understanding of electrical calculations and NEC code.

  • Experience reading schematics and troubleshooting electronic circuits.

  • Ability to work on call for emergencies

  • Willingness to work in a waste treatment plant.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Requirements:

  • Associates degree in electronics technology or engineering

  • Knowledge of semiconductor electronics troubleshooting
