Position Title CIVIL Transportation Lead CADD Designer/Technician

The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and self-motivated Lead Civil Drafter/ Designer for immediate employment in the Akron, Ohio office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in drafting/design.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for serving as primary departmental resource for CAD drafting at the project level
CAD drafting will be performed in a manner which adheres to accepted engineering practices and standards, as well as company standards
Prepare and issue all associated design/drafting packages in coordination with IT support staff
Assist in the development, implementation and deployment of CAD drafting and survey standards on a departmental level, as directed
Assume primary responsibility for providing a quality work product by checking the work product of associates and assuming both schedule and quality measures
Assist in the training and development of less experienced staff
This position affords the ability to make an important and meaningful contribution to our projects and our clients
The role will provide the opportunity for skill development in many aspects of the profession, as well as opportunities for increased responsibility, challenges and project management
7+ years of relevant civil drafting or design experience
Under general direction, provided advanced drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining prints, maps, and engineering design drawings
Ability to work closely with design professionals at a project level with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a team environment, using time management and multi-tasking skills
Experience with ODOT and/or OTIC design policies, procedures, and requirements
Advanced technical knowledge of drafting techniques and training in CAD and spreadsheet software
AutoCAD, Bentley Microstation, and/or InRoads experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Good interpersonal skills, good command of the English language both, verbally and written, the ability to express thoughts clearly, good time management skills, and a good attitude towards work
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
Associates’ degree or completion of technical trade school courses, or equivalent experience
10+ years of relevant civil drafting or design experience
