Job Summary

Savannah River Remediation, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking a Senior Accountant to be based in our Aiken, SC location.

Responsible for examining, analyzing, interpreting and maintaining the accounts and records of the company to ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), practices, and DOE orders. Interprets and applies rules and regulations issued by accounting and regulatory agencies. Compiles and analyzes financial and non-financial information to record transactions and review/verify accuracy of the data. Provides cost/benefit analyses and recommended courses of action.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Under limited supervision, analyzes complicated financial and non-financial data and provides insight on current trends, fluctuations and variances

  • Prepares income statement and balance sheet forecasts

  • Prepares financial slides for Board of Manager's presentations

  • Provides quarterly revenue and earnings variance analyses

  • Establishes and analyzes cost pools, allocations and variances

  • Prepares Incurred Cost Submissions

  • Develops provisional overhead rates

  • Monitors actual overhead rates against provisional rates, project final rates, and explains/details variances

  • Creates requirement documents to assist with development of IT applications for accounting processes

  • Prepares package for annual plan

  • Prepares month-end and quarter-end journal entries and other reconciliations

  • Performs month end and year end closing process

  • Acts as a point of contact for audits

  • Prepares lease vs buy analyses

  • Generates, analyzes and distributes monthly financial statements

  • Responds to data and audit requests through analysis and reporting of data

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with representatives throughout the organization

  • Extracts, uploads and integrates data from multiple systems

  • Develops internal project plans and schedules

  • May contribute to the development or revision of accounting policies and practices

  • Generates required financial reports including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, disclosures, accounting schedules, filings and regulatory reports.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5+ years professional experience in the field of accounting

  • Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant
