Job Summary

AECOM has an immediate need for a Lead Naval Architect in our Adelaide, Australia location!

Role Description: Lead the oversight of the whole-of-submarine design on

behalf of the Technical Director – Platform and as a key member of the Future

Submarine Technical O ce. This will involve:

Reviewing and assessing the platform design, including whole-of-submarine

performance, taking account of operational requirements, specifi cations, and applicable

technical standards.

Supporting establishment of the Integrated Product Development and Support

Environment (IPDSE) for technical data management as the Future Submarine design

is developed.

Supporting the Commonwealth’s analysis of design proposals from DCNS and LMA.

Within delegations, acceptance of platform design proposals assessed appropriate to the

Future Submarine capability needs with full regard to safety and certifi cation requirements.

Working with all Future Submarine Program Directors to support the coordination of the

key program functions of design, construction, material and supplier base management,

preparation for sustainment, test and evaluation, commercial, and program controls.

Mentoring members of the Future Submarine Technical O ce to further develop

technical depth of the Commonwealth.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Education: Bachelor of science or arts degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university or demonstrated equivalent education. Experience: 10+ years of architectural experience. Must be a Registered Architect in a home state. Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position requires an Active Security Clearance. Position may require travel.
