Position Title Senior Structural Engineer
United Arab Emirates - Abu Dhabi
The Structural Engineer who will be responsible for managing a structural design team and take responsibility for overseeing multidisciplinary design teams on a number of projects across the Buildings division. As a leading member of the team, it is expected that the Senior Structural engineer will take responsibility for ensuring that all design work is produced on time, to budget and in accordance with the project quality requirements.
Lead the Structural team.
Lead and mentor engineers and assign projects and responsibilities.
Work with project managers and other discipline team members.
Review of concept design reports.
Review project specific specifications in line with local standards and codes.
Completion of deliverables in agreed time and cost.
Manage large design projects for structural related activities and coordinated services.
Manage design according to local rules, regulations and design guides.
Manage design to British, American and/or International design standards as required by the project.
Manage QA and the checking of all design work carried out prior to formal issue.
Ensure full coordination between the Structural elements of the design team, throughout the design process.
Ensure full coordination between the Structural design team and other disciplines including architectural, civil and MEP engineers
Manage engineers, technicians and CAD/BIM staff
Review arithmetical checks and independent design checks of other design teams and design reviews in accordance with quality procedures
Be responsible for the accuracy of the work of the team

Lead by example, attend training, ensure resources are available. Engage with clients on safety – set client safety objectives on projects.

- A minimum of 10+ years’ experience is required. Applicants would ideally have spent the last three years managing mid-sized teams on monumental building projects in the Middle East.
- A Bachelor’s of Structural Engineering is required (BEng or BSc), professional membership with IStructE is advantageous.
