About the Business Line
Our talented experts are dedicated to managing the complexity inherent in construction projects, catering to each client’s unique needs. We provide services such as program management, construction management and owner’s representation to our clients around the globe.
The Construction Manager will serve as a Representative under PM/ CM contract in all matters related to management of construction time, cost and quality. Also performs administrative & specialized technical work in reviewing and coordinating approvals of documents related to professional consultant services and capital construction projects.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Coordinate the work of all site operations and manage performance of supervision consultant.
Manage site logistics
Review the start-up, testing, final commissioning activities, after review by Consultant
Monitor project master schedule and work progress including milestones date. Identify corrective action
Monitor the contractor's progress and prepare progress reports on a monthly basis to Client. Preside at weekly review, monthly and other progress meetings held at the site.
Carry out/ lead constructability reviews
Enforce the provisions of the contract documents.
Review and support evaluation of contractor’s variations and claims and recommend to client.
Assist in reviewing contractor's change order proposals. Prepare recommendations to Client for change order approval, if warranted - all in conjunction with the designated QS. Assist in negotiations with contractors regarding changes in contract value or project duration
Support assessment of contractor's claims. Assist preparation of recommendations to Client for claims approval or rejection. Negotiate with contractors regarding the value of claims or changes in schedules.
Participate in the final inspection of the work with the Consultant and Client. Monitor final completion of the work. Recommend acceptance of the completed work to Client after receiving the same from the Consultant.
Reviews and coordinates approvals for contract change orders, agenda reports, professional service agreements, budget resolutions, amendments, work authorizations and final payments.
Good working knowledge of Internationally-accepted Construction Management, construction industry principle and practices / safety / quality management systems.
Understanding of Construction/Contract Law.
Good knowledge of current construction technology.
High level of critical thinking, problem solving, numeracy and English literacy skills.
Ability to work in a matrix organisation.
Clear verbal communication skills.
Uses diplomacy and tact in discussions with other parties. Contributes to team building and enhancing morale across the team / project.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management required.
Specific Project Management training and qualification
Membership of a Chartered Institution (MICE/ MCIOB/ MRICS preferred)
Formal SH&E Qualification preferred
