Job Summary

Individuals apply the disciplines of Computer Security necessary to perform Information System Security Audits; Information System Security Assessments; Risk Management Plans; Security architectures; Information system security policies and procedures guides; Information system accreditations and certifications; Command and Control Protect plans and policies; Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP); and, Installation and maintenance of information system security products and services.

  • Essential responsibilities:

  • Assure ongoing security of government customer data and systems by researching and developing awareness, standards and systems to address the protection of information stored on the computer systems

  • Provide support to ensure compliance with government based security requirements related to facilities, systems, and personnel.

  • Assist Division Security personnel as required and manages the maintenance of security personnel databases.

  • Ensure adherence to regulations for generation, transfer, storage and handling of materials that must be maintained in secured environments.

  • Responsible for operation and maintenance of security equipment, alarms, and access control systems.

  • Develop, implement and maintain procedures for classified and accredited AIS systems.

  • Plan and coordinate security services and related functions including the implementation and supervision of programs to ensure maximum utilization within the facility

  • Assist and coordinate the development and implementation of security awareness training.

  • Provide support in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures pertaining to user identity and access to information assets for all systems, consolidating user identities and eliminating administration points when possible.

  • Assist in the definitions, and implementations of systems and data access controls, including logical control methods, physical control methods, user authentication, access tracking, compliance monitoring tools and password policy enforcement to assure continuous effective performance of controls.

  • Ensure that identity and access standards comply with statutory and regulatory requirements. Mitigates exposure to regulated financial and legal information and protects confidential employee and customer data through policy-based management of user privileges.

  • Monitor key system access in coordination with other departments and Internal Audit procedures as required. Ensures password change requirements are documented and assures timely enabling and disabling of user access privileges to protect information technology assets. Tests user passwords and access lists to determine compliance with established policy.

  • Create end-user training materials and methods to aid in implementing access policies and procedures and delivers training as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Must have a Bachelor degree plus 4 years’ experience. Eight years of relevant experience is required if candidate does not possess a Bachelor’s degree. TS/SCI
