Job Summary

Utilize iterative engineering processes to include analysis, trade-off studies, and modeling and simulation (M&S) tools supporting system security requirements definition, interface definition and development, and integration required for system, and system of systems, development, and open architecture approaches that enable technology and capability insertion and interoperability for joint operations. Serve as a project engineer with technical responsibility for planning and conducting technical projects or phases or projects. Support collaborative design sessions, such as System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR). Review and validate test plans and procedures for accuracy and appropriate coverage of operational requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure compliance with established standards, guides, precedents, methods, and techniques within discipline.

  2. Establish electrical and electronic engineering design criteria and provides guidance and evaluation for facility projects.

  3. Conduct work in specialty for high voltage electrical distribution systems; electrical system load and short-circuit studies; instrumentation, and control systems; power and lighting systems, fire detection systems, cathodic protection systems, isolated and emergency power systems, and other unique electrical / electronic systems.

  4. Assist in the development and recommend design approaches for new and improved products and or processes.

  5. Conduct technical investigation involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor Degree in electrical, electronic or computer engineering; computer science, or related field required. A minimum of five years’ experience, of which at least three (3) must be specialized experience including system security analysis and implementation; design assurance or testing for INFOSEC products and systems; integration or testing for INFOSEC products and systems is required. A MS degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of experience. A PhD in a related field may be substituted for an additional two (2) years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in heterogeneous computer networking technology and work in protocol and/or interface standards specification is preferred
